Kickboxing For Women

Kickboxing is frequently considered to a male dominated kind of exercise.  This activity is supported by mixed martial arts, since most of the sport’s participants are male. This has been the trend and it appeared it was going to continue to be that way. Kickboxing for women offers a great all around cardiovascular workout that also helps with losing weight.  Through a series of kicking, punching and other movements, it also helps with toning your overall body.  American Fitness Professional and Associates (AFPA) report that women have discovered that kickboxing allow them to get a resistance and cardio workout simultaneously.

Full Body Exercise

According to the AFPA, kickboxing for women is a full body form of exercise.  Kickboxing works out the whole body instead of just target areas.  Kickboxing allows women to reduce fat, tone and strengthen their bodies simultaneously.  Because kickboxing is a full body workout, women can also increase their cardiovascular fitness, improve coordination, burn calories and increase their flexibility.

Self Defense

According to the AFPA, kickboxing for women may be used as an effective self-defense method.  The instructor during kickboxing classes focuses on teaching punches, kicks, weaving, bobbing and knee-ups.  Students also learn how to land kicks and punches as well as gauge distance.  A majority of punches are practiced on bags to help the student learn how to land their moves on a specific object.  The punches, knee-ups, kicks, weaving and bobbing all may be used as self-defense if necessary.
